What is Waterpreneur Entrepreneurship?

Some water-facts and the South African overview

Water is the absolute essence of life; without it, we simply cannot survive.

  • The body of an adult consists of 60% water and our blood consists of 90% of water.
  • Although there is no universally agreed-upon amount of how much water we need to consume, water is essential for our bodies to function.

Approximately 98% of all water on earth is contained in our oceans, and merely 3% of all water on earth is drinkable. Our rivers, streams, lakes, and dams contain 1% of potable water while groundwater accounts for only 0.3%

That is not a whole lot of drinkable water to go around, now is it?

What is Waterpreneur Entrepreneurship?

In South Africa, we are faced with a severe and nearly constant water crisis that affects the lives of nearly every citizen but has an even more significant impact on those lower on the socio-economic ladder.

Our water resources are scarce and very limited, our climate contributes to this with an average annual rainfall of 465 mm rainfall along with having to share our river basins with five other countries. As if the scarcity of water is not enough, the quality of water available makes it even more difficult to fill our daily quota of water consumed due to lack of access to improved sanitation.

Another factor that influences our scarcity of water includes the amount of water needed for agricultural activities to try and feed an ever-growing population.

With the statistics staring us in the face daily, and conditions not improving by a noticeable margin, what are South Africans to do to counter these ever-declining conditions that we have minimal control over?

South Africa’s employment at a glance

South Africa has a declining employment rate; from 42.44% in the second quarter of 2019, to 42.40% in the third, with our unemployment rates being the highest in the world. Unemployment is especially high in our youth, be it as result of low levels of education, pupils having to leave school before finishing for a variety of reasons and thus they do not have the literacy, numeracy or communication skills needed to enter and perform in the labor market, or many other reasons.

Individuals who are employed have a constant struggle between wages and being able to make a living in a country where living expenses are continuously rising due to factors such as;

  • The price of fuel and other traveling expenses
  • The price of meat
  • Schooling fees along with stationery and books
  • Water and service costs
  • Insurance and financial services
  • Cost of housing and electricity
  • VAT hikes

There are so many individuals who work but get so much less than the national minimum wage. With the focus on the reduction of poverty and inequality, therefor boosting employment, South Africa has the highest level of inequality on the global scale.

A lot of employment opportunities require some level of skill and tertiary education, and with a high percentage of South Africans who have neither, it makes finding work very difficult, and then they have to face receiving a salary that barely makes ends meet.

Waterpreneurs – make the choice to make a change

What is Waterpreneur Entrepreneurship?

Entrepreneurship has the ability to change the lives of those who choose to take matters into their own hands and start a business. Entrepreneurs who succeed can transform their community.

Entrepreneurship in South Africa does not put an individual who is willing to take the risk above those struggling to make a living with working in the industries. Statistics have shown that a lot of entrepreneurs cannot follow through from the start-up of a business as there is a lack of alignment between skills and ideas, along with a complete lack in entrepreneurial support for those who start a business.

Waterpreneurs offers the average, ordinary individual the chance of starting a business with the necessary support and resources and make a success of it. There are no prerequisites to becoming a member, and an agent for the company. Individuals are taught and trained, provided with all the tools and knowledge that they need to start a business.

To be an entrepreneur, it takes self-motivation as you are working for yourself and thus you are solely responsible for pushing yourself daily and to be dedicated to your plan, even though results take time. An entrepreneur must understand what they want to offer and Waterpreneurs helps individuals understand the product that they are selling with in-depth knowledge provided in the training.

Waterpreneurs was established with the aim to empower South Africans who want to become entrepreneurs, to start a business of their own and provide them with economic freedom, while ensuring that entrepreneurs receive the necessary guidance and support from start to finish.

Keeping in mind the statistics and current conditions of our water resources and availability, this may very well be what we need, what our communities need.

Tap water versus bottled water

What is Waterpreneur Entrepreneurship?

Apart from our scarcity in water resources, we are faced with the declining quality of water in South Africa. Due to our water supply being erratic, a lot of communities must collect water for various uses from rivers – with little to no proper way to clean and filter water for drinking.

Our natural resources are more often than not polluted from an array of activities, such as mining. Drinking water that has not been purified, can lead to – but is not limited to:

  • Gastrointestinal Problems
  • Diarrhea
  • Nausea
  • Intestinal and stomach cramps, aches and pains
  • Dehydration
  • Death

Some of the contaminants in in water include E. coli Bacteria, Coliform Bacteria, Nitrates, Lead and Fluoride, amidst others.

So, with dwindling water resources, along with the fact that across our country, there isn’t a great amount of water completely safe for drinking, what options are left to South Africans?

Bottled water. The bottled water industry in South Africa sells approximately 1.8 billion bottles of water a year and makes up 30% of beverage sales in the country, with it being the one beverage which is growing the fastest on the global scale.

About the product: Designer Water

Alkaline water

Designer water was created with quality and health benefits in mind. To not only supply water, but to ensure that that which is supplied, but to improve quality of life of those who consume it.

Normally, water is either pH neutral, or has a pH of 7 and is neither acidic nor alkaline. With a pH level of 10, Designer Water is the purest form of alkaline water that can be bought in South Africa. Waterpreneurs who join the program and either become agents or wholesalers of Designer Water not only have the satisfaction of running a business that has great potential, but the knowledge that the product they sell is superior to others in the market.

The benefits of drinking alkaline water include,

  • Aid in fighting inflammation as it is an antioxidant
  • Improved hydration
  • Reduction in acid
  • Aids weight loss
  • Reduces blood pressure
  • Improves bone health.

Alkaline water restores pH balance in the body, it is mineral and oxygen rich, energizing, cleansing, and so much more. It offers benefits for individuals who suffer from gout that is caused by a buildup of uric acid crystals in the joints. By drinking alkaline water, it prevents that exact build up by reducing acidity.

There is a distinct link between the pH levels found in the body and cancer, as discovered by Dr. Otto Warburg in 1931 when he found that cancer cells tend to thrive in an environment with high alkalinity. Seeing that alkaline water balances the pH levels in body, it may very well hold the key to preventing cancer.

Hydrogen- and Ionized Alkaline Water

Not only does Designer Water produce and distribute alkaline water, but hydrogen water as well. Hydrogen water contains ionized minerals that can detox the body. In combination with alkaline water, it seeks out free radicals in your body, converting it into oxygen, making it possible for energy to be produced and tissue to oxygenate.

Combining alkaline and iodized water results in what scientists refer to as Electrolyzed Reduced Water (ERW). It is responsible for the reduction of harmful effects resulting from oxidation – if oxidation can cause metals to form rust, what effect does it not have on our very fragile internal organs? Thus, the movement towards consuming more foods and beverages that have antioxidant properties, to neutralize this effect.

We are exposed to an array of conditions daily that affect our bodies on a microscopic level. Much so that we are not always immediately aware of them, only when it causes illness, or even so often, death. We are exposed to food, drinks, pollution, negativity, extreme workouts and so much more. By ensuring that our intake includes more antioxidant foods and beverages, we can counter a lot of these effects.

Ionized alkaline water has a negative ionic charge which allows it to effectively scavenge for free radicals which are responsible for the damage and destruction of cells in our bodies. Due to its micro clustered structure, ionized alkaline water can pass through the blood/brain barrier with little to no effort and it does not make you feel bloated or waterlogged when drinking the daily limit.

Why should you consider joining the movement?

When having gone through all the current statistics in our country, and doing even more research on the conditions of not only the economy of our country, but on the finer details like what keeps us going on a daily basis with regards to our health, it paints a bigger picture of what we stand a chance to be able to change not only in our own lives, but in the lives of those around us.

There are a lot of get-rich-schemes out there today and people are very wary and skeptical when a company offers an opportunity such as this, not only to make money, but be a part of a movement that little-by-little can make a change in the lives of so many South Africans; either on the giving or receiving end of things.

The mission of the Waterpreneur program is to help 10 0000 people make R10 0000 a month in the next 3 to 5 years and that is where the hash tag #1010325 comes from.
